DetectorScope turns black-box AI text detectors into auditable ones with sparse autoencoders
_akhaliq · x · 2026-10-26
DetectorScope is a pipeline that converts any black-box AI text detector into an auditable one that is transparent about the features driving its predictions. Experiments show the auditable detectors retain the underlying classifier's performance on both in-distribution and out-of-distribution texts while exposing concrete, highly interpretable features. Accepted at EMNLP 2026, with code open-sourced by Google DeepMind.
