X algorithm update: new posts no longer cut first, small accounts get a fair shot
ThePeterMick · x · 2026-10-26
- X can only check 2,800 posts each time a feed refreshes; new posts used to sit last in line and get cut first
- The update makes cuts fall equally on all posts, including new ones
- Posts labeled low quality or misinformation now show a warning and can't be liked, replied to, or shared
- No score changes this time; the first 2 hours after posting still matter most
