Kimi's $99 plan yields fewer weekly tokens than Claude's $20 plan, analysis finds
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-26
Developer buildwithhassan audited Kimi's top subscription: at a 97% cache hit rate, the $99 plan delivers about 660M tokens/week on K3.1 (up from under 500M on K3), while a $20 Claude plan gets close to 800M tokens/week on Opus 5.5 — paying nearly 5x more for less usage on a model that ranks below Opus. Verdict: K3.1 is a great model with the wrong subscription.
teortaxesTex adds that Anthropic's architecture efficiency is likely closer to DeepSeek's than Kimi's, with the remaining price delta from training scale and proprietary data — the same issue as in 2024.
