Solo dev renders 52-shot cinematic game trailer with Claude Code on one laptop for a few dollars
freechoice · reddit · 2026-10-26
A developer used Claude Code as a lead agent with 20+ sub-agents (each in its own git worktree) to produce a 116s, 52-shot, 2,784-frame cinematic trailer for his phone game Tiltanic, spending only a few dollars on Gemini TTS and Lyria APIs while rendering everything locally in Blender via Python scripts.
Notable autonomous decisions: dropping a copyright-protected waltz for public-domain music, enforcing a 3-lightning-flashes-per-second limit for photosensitive viewers, rejecting its own water renders, catching a crowd character morphing mid-shot, and patching 2 bad frames in the master file in under 2 hours instead of a 5-hour re-render.
The key lesson: self-verification. Every agent had to produce contact sheets and automated checks (missing frames, flicker, loudness, subtitles) reviewed by the lead before anything reached the human. The author estimates he used only 30% of the setup's potential.
