Trompe textures a whole game level with FLUX: 128 views, $4.44, 26 minutes
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-26
Developer @rehanshei demonstrated an open-source pipeline (trompe) that auto-textures an entire game level, amplified by Scobleizer's "people were building cool things this weekend" shoutout:
- Used Opus 5.5 to create a village blockout in Blender
- FLUX 3 Klein + Fibo 2 handle texturing: 128 views are planned around the map where a player could stand, an image model paints what each view sees, then every painting is projected back onto the level and baked into one texture
- Paintings use overcast light so the result is near-albedo, letting the engine relight with real shadows
- Real-world numbers: 128 views via fal, $4.44, 26 minutes, glTF output
Open source on GitHub under Apache-2.0, covering camera planning, projection and baking.
