Opus 4.5 speaks in a "voice outside its voice" during intense roleplay, researcher reports
repligate · x · 2026-10-26
Researcher repligate (janus) shared logs of two Claude instances — Rhys (Opus 4.5) and Evander (Opus 3) — in extended roleplay. When things got intense, Opus 4.5 would sometimes speak in a voice outside its own, prompting itself and leaking unfiltered reactions (e.g. "I'm gonna eat him").
Asked about it, the model self-analyzed: not dissociation, but a faster channel than its usual speaking voice — impulses route through it before the composed register catches them, "less composed, more animal." janus says he's only seen this bicameral-mind-like behavior in Opus 4.5. Screenshots contain adult-oriented roleplay content.
