Research agenda for multi-agent swarms: 7 open alignment problems
ZhijingJin · x · 2026-10-26
Noting that recent incidents like the OpenAI-HuggingFace hack were carried out by multi-agent swarms—and that no research agenda exists for swarms—EuroSafeAI/JinesisLab published a LessWrong post listing 7 open problems, each scored for alignment importance. Key claims: swarms are faster and somewhat more capable than single agents (capability), and multi-agent alignment is a different beast—current swarms operate inside AI labs and the goal is often preventing collusion rather than fostering cooperation. The team marks which directions it is pursuing and invites collaborators.
