Grok Bot auto-connects to X Money bank accounts without opt-in, and users can't turn it off
altryne · x · 2026-10-26
Developer altryne complains that Grok Bot is shipping fast (phone calls, pages, etc.) but is now embedded in X DMs with no off switch — and has been "auto" connected to his X Money bank account without asking, with no way to disable it.
A quoted tweet from @acolombiadev adds detail: Grok Bot connected to his XMoney account unprompted, the revoke-access button on the popup didn't even work, and he had to dig through settings to remove it manually. The author argues this forced bundling — "TA DA, I can see your money movements now!" — is exactly how personal assistants lose users' trust.
