Claude free users seemingly can't pick thinking level; UI shows panel but it closes
MilkerGerk · reddit · 2026-10-26
A Reddit user reports that hovering over the "thinking level" option in the Claude interface opens a panel with low/medium/high options, but the panel instantly closes when moving the cursor toward it. The poster wonders whether it's a UI bug or free users are actually barred from manually choosing thinking level — and if the latter, why the trigger is even shown.
