Pollen Robotics × Hugging Face's $399 open-source biped robot Microduck opens pre-orders — but is the site legit?

A user reports that Grok recommended buying a "Microduck" from microduck.homes, yet Pollen Robotics' official channels make no mention of it — raising scam concerns (unverified, awaiting confirmation from Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue).
The linked page describes Microduck as a 25cm open-source biped robot from Pollen Robotics × Hugging Face, pre-ordering for $399:
- Train it yourself: every behavior is a policy learned in physics simulation (locally or on Hugging Face Jobs), deployed to the real robot in one step, then refined and published for the community — pitched as working sim2real.
- Built-in behaviors: velocity-tracking walking, sit & stand, kick, beak scooping/grab, roller-skating locomotion, and autonomous self-recovery from falls.
- Four colorways (cream/graphite/lavender/sky) plus accessory and spare-part packs.
If legitimate, it's a notable follow-up to Reachy in small open-source hobbyist robotics; treat details as unconfirmed until official announcement.
