Intelligence Index scores cluster at 52-58: data shows a ceiling, not recursive take-off
gerardsans · x · 2026-10-26
An RSI analysis of the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index shows top models clustered in a tight 52-58 band, with a second cluster in the mid-40s. Kimi-3.1 lands near the top, ahead of OpenAI's best model, yet the rate of improvement has flattened. The author argues this data — supposed to support recursive self-improvement — instead shows ordinary iterative optimisation under a known ceiling: absolute scores still rise, but growth is decelerating.
