Texas sued Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL over TVs screenshotting your screen twice a second

Texas sued five TV makers last December over automatic content recognition (ACR): TVs grab whatever is on screen every half second, fingerprint it, and match it against a huge library of shows and ads — regardless of source (cable, PS5, HDMI laptop). The data can flow over Wi-Fi to your phone, which explains eerily targeted ads for things you only watched on TV.
