Protenix removes the AlphaFold3 gatekeeper for labs worldwide
RichardsonDx · x · 2026-10-25
Before Protenix, labs couldn't run AlphaFold3 locally or build on it without going through DeepMind. ByteDance's open-source rebuild removes that gatekeeper — any lab or startup can deploy it themselves, and it now outperforms AlphaFold3 on matched benchmarks, democratizing access to protein-structure prediction.
