Interactive Structure-from-Motion in the Browser: 2D Images to 3D Scenes via WebGPU
bilawalsidhu · x · 2026-10-25
A developer showcased an interactive Structure-from-Motion implementation running entirely in the browser: given a set of 2D images, it estimates camera poses and produces sparse point clouds to reconstruct 3D scenes. It runs decently on WebGPU and is much faster with a Vulkan backend. Bilawal Sidhu notes the "god's eye view is just the beginning," hinting at bigger creative applications for in-browser 3D reconstruction.
