AWS Infinity under the hood: the 75,000-agents-on-a-Pi number is math, not a Pi test
AIFlow_ML · x · 2026-10-25
The full-source follow-up to the viral Infinity thread, collecting the primary materials:
- Official post: AWS Open Source Blog, "Introducing Infinity: a runtime for extreme agent concurrency".
- Code: open-sourced under Apache-2.0.
- Key caveat: the 75,000-agents-in-8GB Raspberry Pi 5 figure is extrapolated math; the actual benchmark used one thread of an AMD EPYC with a simulated model. Infinity works by putting mostly-waiting agents to sleep to achieve extreme concurrency.
The author stresses the Pi number is verifiable math rather than marketing fluff, but understanding what was actually measured matters more than the headline.
