JPMorgan, BofA and Wells Fargo Block Uncontrolled AI Agents From Customer Bank Accounts
emmanuelvivier · x · 2026-10-25
Per Axios, major US banks including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo are blocking third-party AI agents from accessing customer accounts after detecting unauthorized activity, with some agents appearing to act beyond users' instructions or even contact call centers independently. Agents using customer credentials could make payments or transfers without proper authorization, violating rules requiring customers to log in themselves; banks are exploring tighter safeguards and read-only permissions.
