Pennsylvania requires labels on AI-generated ads, among first US states to do so

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, requiring any ad significantly modified or generated by AI—still image, video, audio, or text—to carry a disclosure label in the same format as the ad itself, from its first broadcast. Since the law applies regardless of where the ad was made, disclosures may appear in commercials aired in other states too.
The law leaves loopholes: "significantly modified" is subjective, parody/satire/commentary are carved out, "evidently fictional" is undefined, and it seemingly only covers synthetic content that creates "a false consumer perception." The same thread also notes Microsoft's MAI-DxO AI diagnostic system solved 83.2% of 304 complex New England Journal of Medicine cases, versus 36.1% for equipped general practitioners.
