Security researchers find 32 NVIDIA B300 GPUs on Chinese networks in scan of 12,000+ exposed GPUs

LAVA's security research (shared by SemiAnalysis) shows that publicly exposed NVIDIA DCGM Exporter endpoints leak GPU model names and UUIDs without authentication. Across 2,000+ public IPs tied to 300 organizations, they identified 12,000+ unique GPUs.
- Key finding: 32 Blackwell Ultra B300 GPUs appeared on endpoints geolocated to China — notable given US export controls.
- Scans found 4,724 unique exposed GPUs with China-located IPs overall.
- Thousands of GPUs reported zero utilization, undercutting the compute-scarcity narrative.
- Caveat: IP geolocation isn't definitive — proxies, VPNs or tunnels can mask physical location.
