One chart maps all of new media by 'requires braincells' vs bias — LessWrong lands top-right
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-25
FinanceYF5 shared a scatterplot of the new media landscape with two axes: 'bought and paid for ↔ unbiased' horizontally and 'easy to consume ↔ requires braincells' vertically.
It places legacy outlets (WSJ, FT, The Economist, NYT), newsletters (Stratechery, Lenny's Newsletter), podcasts and creators (Lex Fridman, MrBeast), and AI-community media all on one map — LessWrong sits in the top-right 'most unbiased, most braincells' corner, while The Information, TechCrunch and Substack media each get a spot. Subjective but a handy at-a-glance map of who sits where.
