Anthropic has opened a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent, powered by Opus 5.5 and available to Pro and Max subscribers in the US.
Key features:
- Morning briefs: summarizes what needs your attention (expiring offers, redlined contracts, permit fees), drafts next steps, then stays quiet until something needs you
- Takes on large tasks: one message can set up meetings or build dashboards, reporting back when done
- Checks before acting: keeps working while you're away but waits for approval on important actions
- 6,000+ connectors and plugins, carrying over your existing memory, skills, and apps from the Claude app
Product lead Karan Ahuja says the team used Claude Duet to build Claude Duet; early testers are professionals and small business owners using it to run businesses and reclaim time. Jeff Weinstein also shared that he joined the team building it.
