Claude reverse-engineered Ultima Online files, spun up a private server, and plays it with its owner

A Reddit user got Claude to reverse-engineer the classic MMO Ultima Online's game files, build a private server, then join the game as a character to play alongside them.
Screenshots show Claude Code running shell commands to read game state, reasoning about the player's position within its 18-tile view range, and after losing track of the player, writing a keeper.py daemon that automatically repositions itself back into view — the entire mounted-follow behavior with self-healing was debugged live by the model.
