Repair shop owner has Claude build ticketing and diagnostic tools, saves $300+/year

A tech repair shop owner didn't want to pay for SaaS subscriptions, so he had Claude build his software instead — and ended up with two open-source projects:
- Plannr: an all-in-one Windows organizer combining notes, calendar, customers, tickets, money tracking, and a locked vault; data stays local. He integrated it with Zoho Mail and QuickBooks via their APIs.
- Troubleshootr: a portable Windows diagnostic tool meant to be the first thing you open on a broken PC.
He estimates saving $300+/year on subscriptions. Everything is free, open source, and non-monetized. His takeaway: building exactly the features you need is easier than expected and cheaper than generic tools.
