Indie dev releases Visage-Image face T2I model; custom narrow-domain VAE beats FLUX.2 on iFID
Sherstnyov · reddit · 2026-10-25
Developer Nikita Sherstnev released Visage-Image, his first text-to-image model specialized in face generation. He built his own dataset captioned with Qwen3.5-4B and face-analysis models, and — unsatisfied with FLUX.2's VAE — trained a narrow-domain autoencoder that beats FLUX.2 on iFID for his dataset. Architecture is a single-stream DiT with rectified flow plus tricks from recent papers. It supports varied ages, ethnicities, poses, gaze directions and expressions (some expressions still unreliable). Weights are on Hugging Face, code on GitHub, with ComfyUI custom nodes and workflow included.
