AI influencer reveals labs offered paid posts if he hid sponsorship tags
prasenx · x · 2026-10-25
Developer prasenx (41k followers) reveals that several AI labs recently offered him good money to post about their new models on one condition: no paid-partnership tag. He refused; one lab even called him 2-3 times urging him to "just try the model." He tried it, found the output worse than Claude, and said he'd only post with the tag — they declined, so he walked away. Similar offers still hit his inbox weekly. His advice: when your feed is uniformly hyping a new model launch day, check (1) whether posts carry the paid tag, and (2) whether the demo was actually built with that model alone or with Claude/GPT doing the heavy lifting behind it.
