Solo dev builds AI Dungeon Master RPG over 3 years, simulation engine comes before narration

A solo developer spent three years building Lore & Legends Maker, a D&D-style visual RPG with an AI Dungeon Master, now playable in alpha at llmsaga.com.
- Core principle: "the world comes first"—the engine tracks characters, inventory, quests and tactical combat, while the AI interprets actions and narrates within that simulated world; keeping simulation and DM in sync is the hard part
- Features painterly animated scenes, tactical party combat, free-form actions and NPC dialogue
- Built with help from Claude (systems, encounters, playtesting) and Codex
