MOSS-Image underwhelms at inpainting in head-to-head with Flux.2 Klein and Qwen Image Edit

Inspired by a post claiming MOSS is incredible at inpainting, the author ran Flux.2 Klein 9B, Qwen Image Edit (2511) and MOSS-Image side by side through the same inpainting workflow—and came away unimpressed. The purpose-built editing models (Flux.2 Klein and Qwen Image Edit) performed reliably, though Qwen did produce a half-red, half-green hat once. The author admits a possible skill issue and notes MOSS looks quite good for regular text-to-image. Workflows posted in the comments.
