ChatGPT's inconsistent adult content rules are breaking interactive storytelling, users say
MissingMyNot · reddit · 2026-10-24
A Reddit user who uses ChatGPT for long-running interactive storytelling (controlling one character while the model plays another) says the adult content restrictions are wildly inconsistent across models: the same consensual intimate scene passes on one model, gets flatly refused on another, then works again. Models also derail scenes, fade to black, or rewrite established character personalities mid-story, and repeatedly forget months of built-up character details even after regenerations. The author isn't against restrictions per se but wants them clearly documented and consistent across models so users can decide if the platform fits their needs.
