Claude Code Engineer Departs Anthropic After Over a Year as Project Scaled

An Anthropic engineer has left the company after more than a year building Claude Code, saying the project scaled beyond anything they imagined. In a farewell note they praised the mission and the idea of a "race to the top." Mitsuhiko replied lamenting the departure.
