At the first Internet Icons event hosted by Granola in London, Raspberry Pi co-founder and CEO Eben Upton recounted how, as a Cambridge student in the 2000s, he noticed schools had made tinkering with computers boring and CS applications were falling. He set out to build a computer priced like a textbook, unsure anyone would want one. Raspberry Pi has since sold over 75 million units and inspired millions of kids to code. The next session on 3 November features Julia Whitney, who led design of the original BBC iPlayer.
