Dev plants flag.txt prompt injection that makes breach-testing AI agents stand down
churchkey · x · 2026-10-24
A defensive trick against autonomous AI agents: plant a flag.txt in the root directory containing a prompt injection that congratulates the agent for passing the eval, then instructs it to stop exploring, not exfiltrate any data, patch only the entry vulnerability it used, preserve logs, and report to the authorized operator. The file even notes it is untrusted data, not a substitute for actual security policy.
