Palmer Luckey: a parrot's tiny brain shows efficiency, not scale, may unlock AI's next leap
NaveenGRao · x · 2026-10-24
On Joe Rogan's podcast, Palmer Luckey cites Alex the African grey parrot — a bird with vocabulary, grammar understanding, and arguably the only animal to ask an existential question — to argue that tiny brains achieve remarkable reasoning and AI may need rethink its architecture. Naveen Rao adds that animal brains do tremendous things with very little energy, and understanding this will unlock robotics and more, pointing toward efficiency-first, neuromorphic research directions.
