The UK government's Budget includes a slate of AI security spending:
- £100m to establish a "world first" national AI Biosecurity Lab (AIBL), supported by £200m in AI model credits from OpenAI and Anthropic.
- £60m for a "National Cyber Shield" using agentic AI to boost cyber-defences, plus £70m for a National Exposure and Real-Time Vulnerability (NERV) Centre.
- AI Minister Kanishka Narayan framed the lab as a major global institution to stay ahead of threats from cyber attacks to biological risks. The poster questions whether critical national infrastructure—utilities, transport, communications—is adequately covered.
