"The future should have more objects": retro-tech manifesto image strikes a nerve
Mission_Angle_2322 · reddit · 2026-10-24
A Reddit post shares an image mashing up a pink Hello Kitty Polaroid, iPod, vintage Polaroid camera, and Sony Walkman into a manifesto: "The future should have more objects — more little machines with specific purposes, more physical buttons and satisfying clicks, more hobbies that don't require an account, more things we love without needing to justify their usefulness." Tagline: "One device. One purpose. One little joy." Shared with an ironic nod to ChatGPT generating it, the post taps into pushback against do-everything AI gadgets.
