Salesforce to Require Registration of External AI Agents, Charge per Data Access
verrsane · x · 2026-10-24
Citing reporting by Laura Bratton (Oct 22), Salesforce plans to require companies to register outside AI agents as soon as next month — a step toward charging fees each time those agents update or analyze data stored in Salesforce, letting Salesforce monetize customers using third-party AI like Claude instead of its built-in products.
The poster argues AI-native CRMs will win big enterprise contracts as a result, opening a new chapter in the "SaaS vs agents" business model battle.
