AI transforms content supply economics but not what consumers actually want
illscience · x · 2026-10-24
illscience argues AI dramatically changes the supply-side economics of content, software and games, but not consumer demand itself.
Consumers have always chased sex, money and status — or more generously, self-expression, community and experiences on their personal hero's journey. The real challenge for consumer founders is connecting supply-side miracles to latent demand. True customer empathy is rare: much software is an act of the founder's self-expression, while customers care only about their own stories.
