Canva's first image model Craft debuts at #4 on DesignArena, behind only OpenAI

Canva launched Craft, its first in-house image model, which takes the #4 spot on DesignArena's image leaderboard — making Canva the #2 image lab after OpenAI. It wins most often on photorealistic product shots with studio lighting and ranks #1 in Portrait and Landscape subcategories. Team members say it was built from scratch in 5-6 months and is the closest model to GPT-Image-2. Demo sheets show 2K-resolution text layouts, product photography, and generations at extreme aspect ratios up to 1:5 and 5:1 without cropping.
