73% of scanned MCP servers have vulnerabilities, prompt injection tops the list

Anaconda breaks down indirect prompt injection: attackers hide malicious instructions in web pages, PDFs, or shared documents (e.g. invisible white text in a footer), and AI agents read and execute them as normal commands—imperceptible to humans. OWASP ranks prompt injection #1 in its Top 10 Risks for LLM Applications. Example: a sales rep asks an agent to summarize a prospect's pricing page; a hidden footer line tricks the agent into emailing customer notes to the attacker.
The attached screenshot shows Enkrypt AI's MCP Vulnerability Hub stats: 25,267 MCP servers and 268.2K tools scanned, 143.5K vulnerabilities found, 73.1% of servers vulnerable, 7% critical risk. By type: path traversal 31.7%, resource exhaustion 24.5%, prompt injection 21%.
