United blocked his upgrade with no explanation — pasting the request body to AI revealed why in 11s
generativist · x · 2026-10-24
A user hit United's opaque "This reservation is not eligible to be upgraded" message with no explanation. He pasted the raw request body to an AI assistant, which in 11 seconds found the exact reason in the data: "No upgrades allowed when customer traveling with infant in lap" — the lap infant triggered the block, not his T/H fare class as one might assume.
A neat practical pattern: when a UI won't tell you why, feed the underlying API data or request body to a model and let it locate the hidden business rule.
