100% test coverage, zero bugs found: why this dev added live-post verification
petrusenko_max · x · 2026-10-24
The author pushed his autoposter's test coverage from 84% to 100% (lines + branches, 380 tests) and found zero bugs — the day's real bug was already live: a reply carried the wrong link while every test was green.
Key lesson: CI tests the code, not what the world sees. The improved flow re-fetches each published post logged-out and runs 6 assertions (author, no URL in body, image, reply threading, right link, no tracking params), alerts a human on failure (never auto-deletes), then verifies delete and re-shares exactly once. "Test the code, then test what the world sees."
