Rintawa: a solo dev's open-source Rust engine for persistent, simulated AI worlds
march-taylor · reddit · 2026-10-24
A solo developer open-sourced Rintawa (GPL-3.0, Rust, pre-alpha), a local-first engine for persistent interactive AI worlds. Beyond chat-based roleplay, it models world state, rules, event handling, isolated extensions and portable UI, with plans for psychology/economics simulation, multiplayer, 3D clients and game integrations. The sim layer stays independent of presentation. The dev, who uses ChatGPT as a coding assistant, is seeking contributors and architecture feedback.
