Dagger 1.0 beta launches as third-generation CI built for coding agents

Solomon Hykes announces Dagger 1.0 beta, positioning it as third-generation CI after Jenkins and GitHub Actions, built to match the speed and scale of coding agents without wasting compute or tokens. His thesis: the 2026 CI bottleneck is the platform itself — today's CI is just shell scripts on servers plus log reading, so scaling means idle over-allocated VMs, scripts recompute unchanged artifacts, dev/CI mismatch makes agents "push and pray" and burn tokens per round-trip, and unstructured logs give agents nothing to learn from. Dagger 1.0 beta ships test-native CI, dev shells, local and remote execution, and official modules, with a copy-paste prompt to onboard your coding agent.
