How Cont_animations made AI-animated film Chumbo with Magnific and Seedance
cuenca · x · 2026-10-24
Animation studio Contanimations released Chumbo, issue 2 of its Contanimation TV anthology (a Magnific Original), and shared the full pipeline:
- Concept art first: character design and art direction were done in Magnific before the story existed
- Animation: generated with Seedance 2.5 on Magnific
- Post: shaped into a film through hands-on compositing
- Audio: human voice performances and original music rather than fully AI-generated sound
A practical case study of a hybrid "AI generation + traditional animation post" pipeline for AI short films.
