Vercel ships first-party AI SDK tools: Web Fetch joins Bash, one-line install, any model
lgrammel · x · 2026-10-24
Vercel is shipping first-party tools for AI SDK. After Bash, it released the Web Fetch Tool, letting agents read any web page with any model.
The pitch: provider-specific tools lock you into one vendor, and building your own is a lot of work. First-party tools work with any model, integrate natively with AI SDK, and can be added in one line of code.
