Altman: OpenAI's Best Internal Model Too Powerful to Release; Scoble Reads It as a Moat

Sam Altman says OpenAI's current best internal model is too powerful to release openly any time soon: before that could happen, the internet's cyber defense setup would need to change and the world would need a new layer of protection against biological threats.
Robert Scoble's take: "too powerful to release" means no AGI for regular users, doubles as a great recruiting pitch, and gives frontier labs products no one else can build — which is why VCs keep whispering that the VC model itself is under attack.
