Two OpenAI Safety Researchers Fired Over External Communications Speak Out

On the Machine Gods podcast, Kevin Roose interviews Tomasz Korbak and Ekdeep Balesni, two safety researchers fired by OpenAI after an investigation into their communications with outside researchers. Roose argues the tension between bringing in external monitors and clamping down on leaks will be a thorny issue for AI companies in coming years.
