Agent UX is shifting from intent-alignment surfaces to decision command centers
_AustinCalvert_ · x · 2026-10-23
The author argues we're quickly evolving past intent/alignment review surfaces toward better decision-making "command centers" for agents:
- Decision-making across many contexts — which agents effortlessly own — is becoming the real bottleneck
- Better models can derive aligned intent and produce tasteful, correct solutions without heavy steering, freeing humans from babysitting ("wait bro wtf did you just do?")
- UI/UX irony: decision surfaces still need to provide adequate, easily digestible context per decision, similar to intent surfaces but differently focused
The upshot: the world needs knowledgeable decision makers more than line-by-line reviewers.
