Folding iPhone shows crease after a week; Apple replaces screen layer for $19

The $2,000 folding iPhone develops a deeper center crease within about a week of normal use — by design. Apple built the top screen layer to be peeled off and replaced for $19. YouTuber Tim Pan's machine test folded a unit 10,000 times at room temperature (roughly three months of use) plus 1,000 folds at -4°F; the hinge stayed smooth, while just 500 hand folds on a new unit already deepened the crease. The industry benchmark is 100 folds/day.
