Open-source MCP server lets AI agents control a real iPhone via Safari screen sharing
semstr · reddit · 2026-10-23
Open iPhone Use is a free open-source Mac app + MCP server that lets AI agents control a physical iPhone. The phone shares its screen from Safari over local Wi-Fi (no app install), the Mac pairs as a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, and the agent gets screenshot and input tools over MCP with a fresh screenshot after each action. Works with any client (ChatGPT/Codex) and any strong computer-use model (GPT-6 Luna+ recommended), reusing existing subscriptions. Demo: an agent searched Instagram, watched a Reel, scrolled and liked a post on a real phone. Requires iPhone + Apple Silicon Mac; Windows/Linux and multi-device support coming. GitHub: semsturgut/open-iphone-use.
