Receptionists outlast paralegals: 'relational' jobs may be the real AI-resilience measure

Resharing John Burn-Murdoch's take on Lambert & Schindler's finding: junior hiring in high-AI, low-remote roles (e.g. receptionists) is holding up better than in high-AI, high-remote roles (e.g. paralegals). An alternate reading is that remote-work-ability isn't the key variable — it's a proxy for how 'relational' a job is. The physical presence and relationships of a receptionist are core to that role in a way they aren't for a paralegal, and relational-ness itself may be a key measure of AI resilience.
