FT: Anthropic strikes deal to launch European consultancy amid FDE hiring spree
teodorio · x · 2026-10-23
Per an FT exclusive, Anthropic has struck a deal to launch a European consultancy — explaining why it and OpenAI have been hiring forward deployed engineers aggressively. Commentator teodorio argues labs are moving down the value chain: legacy consultancies charge millions a year for 'digital transformations' that go nowhere, while he gets clients on tens-of-thousands-per-month deals onto agentic data workflows in a quarter, and a fully embedded in-house team within two quarters for low six figures.
He expects every lab to follow, notes 'selling tokens is not selling business outcomes,' and calls this the booming industry of 'shepherds of the labour revolution.'
